With decades of coaching experience across elite sport, education, and the general population, Dan is known for cutting through noise and complexity to focus on what actually works. His coaching philosophy centres on simplicity, consistency, and mastery of fundamentals, strength, movement, and habits that stand the test of time. is the founder of FSM and the Youth Coaching Summit, driven by one clear purpose: to help build a stronger generation. With years of hands-on coaching experience, Stephen has worked with thousands of young people, athletes, parents, and coaches, focusing on far more than physical strength. His work develops confidence, resilience, and character — the traits that carry over into school, sport, and life. Stephen is passionate about giving kids and young people the tools not just to get through life, but to excel and reach their full potential. GARY LANE

is a coach, educator, and specialist in understanding trauma, the nervous system, and their impact on young people, performance, and development. With years of experience working across sport, education, and high-pressure environments, Gary brings a depth of insight that goes far beyond sets and reps. His work helps coaches, teachers, and parents better understand how stress, past experiences, and emotional regulation shape behaviour, learning, and performance in kids and teens. Gary challenges traditional coaching approaches by bridging science, psychology, and real-world application — giving practitioners practical tools to create safer, more effective environments where young people can grow, regulate, and thrive, both on and off the pitch.

DR SIOBHAN O CONNOR

is an Associate Professor in the School of Health and Human Performance at Dublin City University and a Certified Athletic Therapist whose work focuses on injury prevention, athlete wellbeing, and women’s health in sport. Her research examines the unique challenges faced by female athletes—from injury risk and concussion to the social and cultural barriers that cause many girls to drop out of sport during adolescence. Drawing on years of applied research in community and high-performance sport, Dr. O’Connor bridges the gap between science and coaching practice to help coaches create environments where girls can stay healthy, confident, and engaged in sport for the long term

GARY WALLACE

is the founder of Core Kids and a leading voice in physical literacy and child development. For over two decades he has helped schools, clubs, and coaches understand how play, movement, and physical competence shape a child’s confidence and long-term relationship with activity. Gary’s work focuses on giving children the foundations they need to move well, enjoy being active, and develop their potential both in sport and in life.

ALEX KNIGHT

is a coach at FSM Bray and the Head Coach of the gym’s youth programmes. Having been part of FSM since the age of 14, Alex developed through the system as an athlete before stepping into coaching. With a background in rugby and rowing, a degree in Sports Management and Coaching, and professional youth coaching qualifications, Alex now leads the development of FSM’s next generation of athletes. He will be talking about the real impact youth caoching has had on him and how it is now repaying that with others.

BRENDA BANNON

is a performance nutritionist who works with young athletes to help them understand how proper nutrition supports growth, development, and performance. Her work focuses on the unique nutritional needs of children and teenagers during key growth years, helping coaches and parents better understand how food fuels energy, recovery, and long-term health. Brenda’s practical approach makes nutrition simple and accessible for young athletes, giving them the foundations they need to train, play, and develop at their best.

WILLIAM MICKLEM

William is the creator of the hugely successful GO! Rules for young performers, with over one million listens as a TEDx Talk.  He has worked with leading young competitors in cycling and fencing as well as being one of the world’s leading equestrian coaches, known for innovative approach to training.  He assessed Irelands leading young riders for 17 years as part of the Golden Saddle scheme and was formerly National Coach for the Irish Horse Board.  William’s work focuses on positivity, simplification and long-term development, making his insights incredible valuable for those working with young people in any sphere.
